For leading retailer M&S providing a safe shopping experience for customers is of paramount importance. Sigma was therefore appointed to survey, inspect and maintain fire dampers in an initial 150 stores across the UK.
Sigma required a flexible digital solution that would enable them to capture and record defects, quality milestones and handovers whilst also offering the team the option to be able to record lesson’s learnt for continuous improvement opportunities.
Sigma and Boris Software worked together to create a system that supported the delivery of a comprehensive M&E fire damper survey project for Sigma’s client.
The BORIS system facilitated the challenges of this project; to survey & record the exact location, condition and to test performance of the fire dampers across the M&S national network of stores. Being able to map the location of the dampers with existing drawings and flag up any test results and remedial actions was also seen as a huge advantage for all parties.
This platform demonstrates a highly efficient and adaptable tool for delivering detailed client requirements within a user friendly mobile app function. Ease of use proved to be a major plus with the client, consultants and the surveying team. The adaptability of the application allows for real-time accountability and recording of ‘right first time’ handovers.
