Firestop and fire door inspection software for US contractors
Record every penetration, joint and fire door assembly against its listed system and NFPA 80, on a phone or tablet. Give the special inspector, the AHJ and the building owner one audit-ready record.

Built for how US firestopping is inspected
On high-rise and Risk Category III and IV buildings, the IBC requires special inspection of firestop systems before they are concealed, to ASTM E2174 for penetrations and ASTM E2393 for joints. BORIS records each installation with its listed system number, F and T ratings, the penetrating item and photos taken before concealment.
The IFC requires owners to keep an inventory of fire-resistance-rated construction and inspect it every year, and NFPA 80 requires fire door assemblies to be inspected and tested at least annually, with signed records kept for the AHJ. BORIS schedules each inspection, records the result and tracks every deficiency until it is corrected.
The first firestop and fire door management system built in the UK, now used by more than 500 companies.

Frequently asked questions
Does BORIS support NFPA 80 annual fire door inspections?
Yes. BORIS inspection forms can be set up around the NFPA 80 inspection points for swinging fire doors. Each door gets a signed, dated record with photos, and any deficiency is tracked until it is corrected.
Can BORIS record listed firestop system numbers?
Yes. Each penetration or joint can carry its listed system number, F and T ratings, the barrier it passes through and the penetrating item, with photos taken before the work is concealed.
Does BORIS help with special inspection of firestopping?
BORIS gives the special inspector a complete, photo-backed record of every installed system and its location on the floor plan, which supports inspection to ASTM E2174 and ASTM E2393. The inspection itself is carried out by the special inspector.
Is BORIS useful for FM 4991 or UL Qualified Firestop Contractor audits?
BORIS keeps the installation records these programs audit: what was installed, where, to which system, by whom and when. It does not replace the program’s own requirements.
Can building owners use BORIS for the annual barrier inspection the IFC requires?
Yes. Owners and their contractors can keep the inventory of rated walls, floors, firestops and doors in BORIS, inspect them every year and keep the repair records.
Does BORIS work offline?
Yes. Technicians can work with no signal and BORIS syncs automatically when the connection returns.
Code requirements depend on the editions your AHJ has adopted. BORIS helps you record and prove compliance; it is not a substitute for the AHJ, the special inspector or a listed system.
