Under BCAR, the assigned certifier and the builder sign the Certificate of Compliance on Completion against Part B and the Fire Safety Certificate. BORIS gives them a photo-backed record of every fire stopping seal and fire door, pinned to the drawings, so the certificate is backed by evidence.
Fire doors need periodic maintenance at least every six months by a competent person, and fire stopping at new penetrations must be maintained and certified by a specialist contractor. BORIS schedules each inspection, records the result and tracks every defect until it is fixed.
